The pressures of adolescence, and of transitioning into the college years, can create some daunting stresses on our teens’ (and young adults’) mental health. At this vulnerable time, they also are becoming increasingly responsible for their own mental wellbeing.

Does your teen know when, how, and where to get help when they or someone they know is faced with an emotional crisis?  Do you know how to guide them?  Is it the normal ups and downs of adolescence or something more serious?  What are the signs that your teenager or college-aged son or daughter is experiencing normal or clinical depression, or has become suicidal?  How can an anxiety or eating disorder be managed away from home?  When should parents step in and get help, or pursue an intervention?

Come to hear mental health professionals discuss these and other issues. Learn what adoptive parents of teens and young adults should know in order to help their kids to cope.

Bring your concerns and questions.  Refreshments to be served.
